1998-2001
I started Interaction Architects (IA) in 1998 based primarily on the belief that I could create a digital design consultancy with a culture and environment that empowered and integrated design, research, and innovation. My goal was to fuse the art and science of design via a mutli-disciplinary team, an applied user-centered design philosophy / framework, and just plain fun. I grew the business from just me working out of my home office, to a small team of 7 full time associates working out of a fantastic downtown San Diego office we designed ourselves. The images shown to the right cover a small fraction of the wireframes, storyboards, and visual comps we created. As Founder, President, and Principal Consultant, I managed IA through a merger and separate acquisition by a parent company.
